Community support has always been an important part of the ethos at Hitchcocks Business Park. And there has been a varied number of teams, individuals and local causes that the park has supported over the years.

Every year the business park makes a donation towards the Christmas lights in Willand and provides the Christmas tree which stands in the centre of Uffculme. It also provides the field where the Uffculme Show takes place and is a sponsor of Willand Rovers football team.

Richard Persey, owner of Hitchcocks Business Park, said: “It is very important to us to support our local villages and we will always consider requests and help where we can. We take our role in the community very seriously and with so many local people employed here, believe it is very important to support the towns and villages in which they live.”

In June 2018 Hitchcocks sponsored a local student’s five-week expedition to the Canadian Yukon, conducting scientific research into the flora and fauna with the British Exploring Society (BES), a charity set up in 1932 by one of the survivors of Captain Scott’s ill-fated expedition to Antarctica.

Other sponsorships include donating towards boxing training for a local youngster, basketball sponsorship for a local girl who plays for Exeter Spartans and a local under 14s rugby team to enable them to buy kit.
