A new footpath will be created from Uffculme to Langlands Business Park thanks to a £60,000 investment by Hitchcocks Business Park.

The new path, which is due to be completed this month, opens up access to the business park and will enable people to engage in active commutes, walking and cycling to their workplaces on the park. Richard Persey, owner of Hitchcocks Business Park, said: “We are really pleased to open this path, so people can access their workplaces by foot or bike. By installing this new public right of way, we are demonstrating our commitment to the local workforce and also realising our pledge to be as sustainable as we can be.

“We are all being encouraged to be as active as possible and to reduce our impact on the environment where we can, so we are happy to be able to support people by creating this quality new route through to Langlands.

Richard added: “The path currently goes from Langlands Business Park bus stops to the site where the new homes are being built on the edge of Uffculme. In due course it will run through the new homes and into Uffculme and the plan is for it ultimately to join the national cycle network.’
